JEE Main Session 1 2026 Result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to release the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main session 1 result on February 16, 2026. Students who appeared for the examination will be able to download their results using application number and password on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Along with results, cut-off marks will also be released.

- Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- On the homepage, click on "JEE Main Session 1 Result 2026" under "Candidate Activity" board.
- A new page will open. Enter your application number and password.
- Click on "Submit" and then click on "Result" section.
- Your result will be displayed on the screen.
- Download and save your result for future reference.
Re-Evaluation And Re-Checking Process
Candidates must note that there will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of their scores, and no correspondence regarding the same will be entertained, the NTA has said. Those who were found using Unfair Means Practices (UMP) during the examination will not have their results issued.

JEE Main Session 1 Results 2026 Live Update: How is AIR decided?
Rank, rather than percentile, is the relevant statistic during the admissions process. Once all students have their percentiles calculated by shift, all shifts are compiled together, and one cumulative All India Rank (AIR) is created. This AIR determines eligibility for counselling and whether you receive a college or university education, and which branch of study you will receive or select.
It is possible for a student with less than 100 percent of equal points total for that examination to have a better AIR than another student with a higher score because his or her percentile was also higher.
On the higher end of the scale, percentile differences can translate into huge jumps in rank. Going from the 99th percentile to the 99.5th percentile or from the 99.5th percentile to the 99.9th percentile can change your rank by thousands. This happens when high scorers are bunched together in a small area of scores. Just one more right answer can have a huge effect on how you will be ranked.
JEE Mains are held in two sessions annually
The two-session format of JEE Main allows candidates flexibility — either to improve upon their January score or to solidify their standing before Advanced. With over 7.75 lakh students appearing in both sessions in the previous year, the dual-attempt system has become an important feature of the examination structure.
