SSC announces deferment of CAPFs, SSF and Assam Rifles GD exam scheduled from February 23; fresh dates to be announced later.The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided to postpone the SSC Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination 2026. The announcement was made by SSC today (February 17). While the government exam has been deferred without stating the reason, a fresh exam date has not been announced. SSC has mentioned that fresh exam dates will be announced later. As per the previous exam dates, the SSC GD exam was scheduled to be conducted on February 23.

SSC GD Exam Date 2026 Admit Card

SSC GD admit card is usually released 4–5 days before the exam date. Registered candidates can download the hall ticket using their registration number and password.

The admit card acts as an entry pass and contains important details such as exam date, shift timing, reporting time, exam centre address, and instructions.

Is SSC GD Exam Date Postponed ?

Yes, SSC has issued a notice on this postponement on ssc.gov.in. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for the latest updates.

As per the official SSC GD 2026 Exam Date Notice released by SSC, the online examination will begin from 23rd February 2026 but now postponed.. The admit card will be released 2–3 days before the exam and city intimation slips around 5 to 6 days before the exam date. SSC will also allow the facility for the slot booking process to the applied candidates to select their preferred exam date, shift and city.

To ensure all candidates have a chance to choose their exam slots and centres, SSC will provide the slot selection facility before the exam date. As of now, there is no official notice regarding the SSC GD Constable Slot Selection 2026. It is expected that the slot booking process for SSC Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Written Examination (Computer Based) 2026 may begin in the first week of February 2026.

The first stage of the recruitment process is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted to shortlist candidates for physical tests. The exam consists of 80 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 2 marks, making a total of 160 marks. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour).

Minimum Qualifying Marks

• UR – 30%
• OBC / EWS – 25%
• All Other Categories – 20%

After qualifying in the CBT stage, candidates must appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Finally shortlisted candidates will undergo medical examination before final selection.
